FAQs

We Are Frequently Asked....

How often do we pick up the contents of the bins?

First and foremost, we are LOCAL and only a phone call away.

The collection of the bins' contents is based on volume.  We start off weekly, but initially rely on our drivers and our partner hosts to determine if we should do every 2 weeks, pick up 2x a week or decide a 2nd bin is needed.

Where do the clothes go?

The collected contents from our bins have different final destinations.  Non-reusable textiles are recycled and repurposed, therefore keeping them away from clogging our landfills.

We work with clothing recyclers in the northeast and reusable clothes are distributed globally to those in need.

Can't people just throw their clothes, etc out?

That's the thing.  No.

As of November, 2022 it is illegal in Massachusetts to throw away textiles.  They must be recycled.  Massachusetts landfills take in 250k tons of textiles annually.  That's not good.

How does BINcentives help the community?

We divert everything collected in our bins from clogging and polluting our landfills.

As a majority Woman-owned business in Massachusetts, we do give back a portion of our earnings to a variety of churches and charities. We will update our bin customers on those charities, AND we will certainly review any recommendations you may have, or a favorite charity too.

What types of items can be put in the BINs?
Besides old clothes, we accept shoes, coats, hoodies, purses and handbags. All of these goods can be recycled into communities that need them or repurposed into other goods.  Click to see a detailed list of the textiles we accept.
