Why is it important for me to Donate clothes and shoes?
Environmental Reason:
250,000+ tons of textiles are thrown in our Massachusetts landfills annually! That's 500 Million pounds! Some of these items can take up to 200 years to completely decompose and they leak toxic dyes into the ground.
Legal Reason:
In November 2022, Massachusetts became the first state to make it illegal to get rid of clothes by throwing them in the trash. Click to learn more about the Massachusetts Law banning textile from landfills.
Feel Good Reason:
Textiles include clothes, coats, hats, shoes, purses, handbags, boots, belts, etc. Items in good shape will benefit those in need. Lesser quality items are recycled and repurposed.
